A Bright Colorful Wedding at The Old Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Genevieve Huval and Steven Fisher met in grade school and planned a colorful outdoor wedding for exactly 10 years after their first date. Genevieve and her mother originally planned the celebration to have a whimsical and romantic style filled with pink details, but this soon changed. Six weeks before the wedding, Genevieve’s father unexpectedly passed away. Their focus shifted to having a fun memorable party as well as a celebration of life and marriage. Genevieve changed her color scheme to include a wide range of bright pink, red, yellow, purple, green and orange hues. Aside from a few details inspired by Pinterest , she gave vendors free range to choose the playlist, floral arrangements and more. The couple’s garden ceremony was lined with orange chair sashes as two whimsical arrangements of pink peonies, pink hydrangeas and white stock flowers were set behind the altar space. After Genevieve and Steven said "I do," their guests went inside for a fun cocktail hour and reception. An image of Genevieve with her father at A-Net's Bridal Boutique was placed at the entrance. Inside, ivory and white linen-covered tables were met with fun silver breakaway vases and candelabras filled with colorful roses, ranunculus, delphiniums, hydrangeas, stargazer lilies and hypericum berries. All enjoyed a buffet dinner, five-tier ivory wedding cake, various chocolate desserts and a two-tier chocolate cake topped with chocolate-covered strawberries before spending the rest of the night on the dance floor. Genevieve and Steven finished their party with a fun flower-petal exit and drove away in a white limo.
