A Bright Book-Inspired Wedding at the Kolo Klub in Hoboken, New Jersey

Candace (29 and in marketing/publishing) met Sean (30 and in audio/publishing) at a work conference for the publishing house at which they worked. They developed a close friendship over the next six months, and Candace had a habit of describing him to her friends as, "Three words: hot, nerdy, and single." She, however, was not single but in an unhappy relationship. "Sean showed me, just by being my friend, how healthy relationships should work," she says. Once she was at last single, they went on their first official date on the Fourth of July, where they shared a book, went to a barbecue, and then saw a movie. After a little over a year and a half of dating, Sean proposed on their rooftop in Hoboken with a yellow gold engagement ring that once belonged to his grandmother (who happened to have gotten married on July fourth!). Although they originally wanted to get married in a bookstore to commemorate their passion for publishing and the day they first met, they decided instead on the Kobo Klub in Hoboken, New Jersey above the Pilsener Haus Biergarten, where they still managed to incorporate literary decor, like a vintage typewriter and close to fifty paper flowers handmade out of book pages by the bride herself to accent the floral arrangements. Their vibrant yellow color scheme was more than enough to brighten their rainy wedding day.
