A Bright Bohemian Chic Wedding at the Winter Park Racquet Ball Club in Winter Park, Florida

Inspired by the colors of the summer sunset, Shannon Page (29 and a pharmaceutical sales rep) and David Akina (40 and a pharmaceutical sales rep) bathed their reception in shades of peach, fuchsia and raspberry. “I’ve always joked about having a rainbow wedding since I love color so much,” Shannon says.

Pink taper candles topped a massive, wood farm table situated in the center of the reception space, while smaller, round tables flanked each side. “I loved that we were surrounded by our family and friends,” Shannon says of the setup. In addition to a chocolate-coconut cake brushed with gold, guests snacked on the bride’s go-to dessert of doughnuts postdinner. “My favorite doughnut shop is just five minutes away from the venue, so it was an easy choice!” she says.

Personalized touches, like wood plants with hand-painted Bible verses along the aisle, made the grand church feel cozy. For her walk down the aisle, Shannon carried a ribbon-tied arrangement filled with ranunculus, orchids, peonies and raspberries.

Each of Shannon’s three bridesmaids wore a floor-length gown in a shade of pink and carried coordinating bouquets that reflected the blooms of the centerpieces. “Flowers are my happy place, so my florist let me make a few pieces,” Shannon says of her DIY touches.
