A Bright, Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Yardley, Pennsylvania

Lindsay Robinson (24, teacher) and Carey Fallt (24, executive team leader) met during their first weekend at college. Though they were friends throughout college, they didn’t start dating until after they had graduated. To propose to Lindsay, Carey planned a day-long trip down memory lane that revisited all of the places the couple shared together, including the brunch spot where Carey first asked Lindsay out, downtown Chicago where they went on their first date, and the coffee shop where Carey first asked Lindsay to be his girlfriend. The trip culminated in a proposal on the dock of a lake that the couple frequented and an engagement party at the nearby boathouse with all of their friends and family. Carey and Lindsay wanted their wedding to be a family affair, so it was only fitting that they had their reception at Lindsay’s childhood home, with their ceremony at the nearby Washington Crossing State Park. Rain was stop and go on the day of Lindsay and Carey’s wedding, but this didn’t deter them from having a great party. Their summer wedding was bright in coral and white, and the flower arrangements included alstroemeria, white snapdragons and baby’s breath. Burlap and lace accents at the reception included DIY table runners and signs. Instead of a guest book, Lindsay and Carey had their guests sign subway maps of cities that they had lived in. For dinner, they served Mexican food since they both love fajitas so much.They also had a pie station instead of serving a traditional wedding cake. At the end of the night, as rainwater began seeping into the tent, the whole party danced in the rain. Lindsay and Carey had a spontaneous and colorful backyard wedding that their guests will never forget.
