A Boho-Meets-Rustic Wedding at Tin Roof Barn in White Salmon, Washington
Natalie and Ryan's wedding at Tin Roof Barn in White Salmon, Washington, embodied the coziness of home with its boho-chic reception decor and beige-and-mauve color palette. "We wanted to showcase all the beauties of the northwest and our wedding venue did just that," explains Natalie. "When we were thinking about the overall style and feel of the wedding, the wedding venue was already so unique that we didn't want to take away and distract from that or make it feel too country-like so we went for simplicity! We didn't necessarily have a theme but looking back, it felt like a combination of Parisian countryside with rustic boho touches. Our colors were a combination of earthy neutral tones, a muted stone palette with touches of mauve, plum, blush pinks, and rose gold." Additionally, it was important to Natalie and Ryan that they "incorporate Vietnamese culture into our wedding. With the venue tucked up into and since we weren't able to have a morning Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, I decided to wear the traditional Vietnamese red bridal Áo dài as we greeted all the dinner tables."
Floral design played a major role in bringing the couple's relaxed aesthetic to life. "We wanted the florals to be earthy, textured and organic as if it were seamlessly intertwined with the natural foliage of the space," recalls Natalie. "With my bouquet, I wanted it to be BIG, unstructured, asymmetrical designfocused on the neutral and blush roses contrasting with the deep plums and burgundy accent florals. Living in the Pacific Northwest, we wanted to incorporate touches of smokebush into the ceremony arbor and dinner centerpieces." To complement the celebration's lush floral arrangements, Natalie and Ryan filled their reception with an eclectic collection of vintage-inspired furniture and decor. "The mismatched chairs and dining tables already made the venue space for the reception so unique that we didn't want to distract from that or walk in and feel overwhelmed with too much decor so we really wanted the florals to add to not have any tablecloths and just add a simple mauve table runner with flowers and candles at each table," shares Natalie.
Looking back on their boho-meets-rustic wedding at TinRoof Barnin White Salmon, Washington, Ryan recalls the first look as his favorite part of the day while Natalie savored the ceremony processional. "I was really excited to see her in her wedding dress for the first time and have that moment alone together before the wedding celebration started," says Ryan. As for Natalie, "one of the most special moments was walking down the aisle towards Ryan by myself. With my dad not being in my life, I had decided I didn't want to stick with tradition of having someone 'give me away' so we decided to stay true to ourselves and I walked down the aisle alone. It was incredibly empowering and true to who we were individually and as partners."
