A Boho-Chic Destination Wedding at Olowalu Plantation House in Maui, Hawaii
This boho-chic destination wedding was inspired by the tropical vibe of Maui, Hawaii, and utilized a simple color palette of cream, shades of coral and accents of gold that complemented the island’s natural decor. Nicole Harding (28 and a relationship manager) and Quinn Velasquez (29 and a portfolio manager) had their outdoor ceremony and reception near the ocean on the property of the Olowalu Plantation House in Maui, Hawaii. “Neither of us had been to Maui, and that’s oddly what made it perfect,” Nicole says. On dining tables at the reception, candles were scattered around clear vases filled with roses, spider chrysanthemums and fern, arranged by Teresa Sena Design and beautifully photographed by Drozian Photoworks. Gold metallic spray paint decorated small details of the wedding that helped tie the color palette together, such as the stand that held the two-tier ivory wedding cake accented with pink flowers. Our favorite detail was the white coaster wedding favor, which displayed an elaborate thank-you message that guests took home with them. “Having a destination wedding was the best decision ever,” Nicole says. “It was extremely intimate. The best part of our wedding was the guests, who were either family or close friends."
