A Boho Beach Wedding in Estero Island, Florida
For Cassidy Galbraith (22 and the vice president of a landscaping company) and Alex Howard (26 and the chief purchasing officer fora landscaping company) the beach is home. The pair, whose date nights involve walking their dogs on the sandy shores, immediately knew there’d be no other place to get married, so they headed to Estero Island. “We wanted a tropical paradise,” Cassidy says. The couple covered their beachfront arch in philodendron and palm leaves as well as tropical flowers, and Cassidy walked down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major, played by a steel drum for a little island-inspired flair. Cassidy, Alex and their guests sipped mai tai mules, snacked on key lime ice cream push pops, and ended the night with a last dance on the beach, lit by sparklers.
Gold flatware, black linens, orchids and split-leaf philodendron added a tropical touch to the tables. “Above all, we really wanted the sunset to shine,” Cassidy says. Guests took home locally made soaps as well as fresh Florida oranges and Kind bars for a late-night snack. Cassidy and Alex’s loved ones signed a surfboard, which the couple later hung in their house. Naturally, a tropical philodendron leaf also topped the black buttercream chocolate cake.
