A Boho Wedding at Greengate Ranch in San Luis Obispo, California, With a Toffee Color Palette

Alexis and Mike's romance began with a spirited greeting: “ALOHAAAA.” “As soon as Mike said that, I knew I was in trouble,” Alexis says. “His gregarious energy captured my attention.” At their wedding, the couple combined their fun, silly spirit with boho pieces, including an “aloha” sign over the seating chart, a sunny color palette and tropical touches, a nod to that first hello. Alexis and Mike gathered guests at Greengate Ranch, a vineyard with rustic barns and ranch houses scattered throughout the property. “We wanted the vibe to feel light and funny—very us,” Alexis says. As Mike said in his vows, “The first thing I fell for was your sense of humor—it is beyond weird, and matches mine perfectly.” Look no further than their signature sign, which read “Mutual Weirdness Forever.” Alexis was particularly drawn to mustard when picking the day’s color palette, so the yellow shade played a starring role in the day, punctuated by pinks, peaches and white. Yellow goblets, deeper mustard runners and toffee-colored candles topped tables.  Partygoers sipped the first date, a marg, the just Maui’d, a tropical cocktail, and Piper’s pick, named for Alexis and Mike’s pup. The couple also kept kombucha, their favorite, on tap. The pair’s baker topped the soft ombré cake with peonies and roses, all in shades of pastel pink and ivory. For Alexis’s family of “cake people,” it was a must.
