A Bohemian Waterfront Wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House in Olowalu, Hawaii
Nina Mrcela and Ben Smith pulled of a tropical waterfront fete laced with hints of feminine bohemian flair for wedding in Olowalu, Hawaii.
Ocean views and swaying palms — the island’s best assets — were a visual delight for guests during the ceremony and dinner. A palette of mauve, pink and neutral hues teamed with rustic farm tables and cascading arrangements of full florals and greenery infused the decor with a romantic feel. Delicately draped table runners and flickering candlelight furthered the effect.
Paying tribute to the setting, the place cards were bright green leaves bearing the name of each guest hand-lettered in gold ink. Nina and Ben even had a live ukele playing during the ceremony and cocktail hour.
The couple’s “I do” duds mirrored the carefree feel of the day, with Ben opting for classic navy trousers and a white collared shirt and Nina donning an airy, bead-embellished two-piece set. “The top had a sweetheart neckline and a gorgeous exposed back. It was hand-beaded with pearls and had a soft mesh lining. The skirt matched perfectly with a side slit trimmed with lace, which gave it a flair of grace and sexiness whilst keeping with the beach bohemian bride look,” Nina says.
