A Bohemian Restaurant Wedding at Front and Palmer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Marisa Sacks (27 and a law student) and Morgan Sokol (31 and a director of government affairs) found inspiration in art. Specifically, the over-ripened fruit popular in the paintings of the Dutch masters. With that in mind, the pair planned a romantic, gothic gathering. Marisa and Morgan sourced their wedding invitations from Marisa’s grandmother's stationery store and made sure to give them extra thought. “In order to make sure the invitations reflected our belief in partnership and equality, we had our names placed side by side instead of one above the other,” Marisa says of the floral suite. Instead of a single officiant, the couple’s parents came together to marry Marisa and Morgan. Side by side, Marisa’s blush ball gown popped next to Morgan’s chic trumpet-style sheath. Edison bulbs illuminated the restaurant, where guests sat down to tables topped with gold flatware and taper candles. Rather than sending partygoers off with individual favors, the newlyweds treated guests to Philadelphia-style pretzels and artisan ice cream sandwiches to enjoy on their way home.
