A Bohemian, Mountain-Chic Wedding at The Grand Targhee Resort in Alta, Wyoming

Shannon Brady and Pat Calhoun’s summer wedding in the Teton mountains had a rustic, bohemian vibe with natural wood accents and a color palette of warm earth tones. With many of their friends and family coming from out of state, the couple wanted to give guests the full outdoors experience. They decided to host the ceremony on the Grand Targhee Resort’s Teewinot Lawn, where they tied the knot against a scene of snowcapped mountains and thick forest. The pair asked a close friend to officiate the ceremony, which they dedicated to their parents. “Our parents have given us an incredible amount of love and support throughout our lives, and we wanted to make sure they were honored on this special day,” Shannon says. As a nod to the setting, Shannon and Pat incorporated wood elements throughout the ceremony and reception. A handcrafted wood wedding arch with a macramé backdrop framed the couple as they exchanged vows, and tree slices served as pedestals for the wildflower and dried grass centerpieces at the reception. Other mountain-chic touches included antlers and burlap table runners. When it came to the flowers, Shannon decided to follow Irish tradition and add fresh lavender into the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces as a symbol of love, loyalty, devotion and luck. The first look was one of the couple’s favorite memories from the day: They took a quiet moment overlooking the mountains to exchange personal vows. “I loved how intimate this part of the day was. This was a moment just for us, without an audience, filled entirely with love and excitement,” Shannon says!
