A Bohemian, Mid-Century Chic Wedding at The LakeHouse at WaterColor Inn & Resort in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
Shannon Brianne Dodd (32 and owner of GoHannah custom hair extensions) and Ryan Taylor Ricketts (28 and owner of a roofing construction company) created a mid-century modern, bohemian, tropical-glam theme for their lawn ceremony and reception by the resort’s pool.
As her “something old,” Shannon wore her mom’s signature lipstick, Revlon’s Crystal Cut Coral. “I played dress up with it when I was little and always thought my mom looked so beautiful in it,” she says. Ryan wore a custom blue suit, a tie inspired by Cuban tile and brown wing tip shoes.
“It was my dream dress,” Shannon says of her Berta gown. “Her dresses fit like a glove.”
Ryan’s son donned suspenders for his ring bearer duties. The pair of flower girls wore tulle dresses with lace appliqué.
The couple used bold colors inspired by the sunset—coral, orange, pink, gold and sky blue—in the floral centerpieces and on the cake. Tropical flowers, pineapples dipped in gold, assorted colorful bottles with flowers, geometric vases, terrariums and paper balloons on bamboo sticks created an eclectic tablescape.
Shannon’s wedding day advice: “I can’t emphasize enough to take time and really embrace what is about to happen.”
