A Bohemian Fall Wedding at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, California
Annie Keire and Kris Udang fused bohemian romance with rock and roll for their fall nuptials at the historic Holman Ranch in California’s Carmel Valley. Looking to the season for inspiration—and Kris’s showstopping hunter-green suit—the couple opted for a color palette of dramatic pink, orange and purple hues that popped against the setting’s lush green forests and rolling hills. Florals were the focus of the décor, adding a punch of personality to the tablescapes and ceremony stage without eclipsing the venue. “I feel like florals can often fall into the background, but these were memorable without being overpowering,” Annie says. For the ceremony, Seascape Flowers decked out the couple’s geometric wedding arch with textured, oversize bundles of mixed greenery and fuchsia, purple and orange florals. Annie’s hand-tied bouquet was the ideal statement accessory, with its king proteas and cascading vines. The reception florals were equally eye-catching, with bouquets of deep plum foliage and punchy pink and orange ranunculuses popping against the crisp white linens. “Every morning on our way to work, we send each other comics to start the day off with a laugh. So, our escort cards were some of our favorite comics from @PoorlyDrawnLines,” Kris says. Other personalized touches included a dessert bar filled with the couple’s favorite treats (including Carmelita's), a custom-written ceremony and a few “secret” Easter eggs that only a few people in the know would have noticed. “I work for a video game company, and we both love games, so in a nerdy nod to my industry, Annie walked down the aisle to Florence and the Machine’s cover of ‘Stand by Me,’ which just so happens to be in the opening cut of one of my favorite games,” Kris explains. The couple opted for black diamond rings, and Annie topped off her romantic lace gown with an edgy leather jacket for the reception.
