A Bohemian Country Wedding at The Barn at High Point Farms in Flintstone, Georgia

Though Amy Minchew (31 and owner of Minchew & Company and artist at Amy K. Art) is a self-proclaimed fantasy fanatic, she’ll admit that her relationship with husband Matthew Hardy (32 and a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force) didn’t have the most storied beginning. “I originally decided to go out with Matthew after a series of awful dates,” says the bride. “Thank goodness he was persistent because when I finally met him, I found him to be far from what I thought he was going to be.” About six years later, the two tied the knot at The Barn at High Point Farms, after Amy fell for the enchanting setting, and Matthew for the animals on property. “I have an active imagination,” explains Amy. “Part of me always longs for a magical setting.” True to form, the bride envisioned a party that merged the sets of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with The Lord of the Rings, and brought that theme to life with woodland figurines and other hidden treasures. The groom, an Air Force Master Sergeant, donned formal mess dress, while the bride wore a custom smoke-grey gown. A loose braid and whimsical hairpiece completed her romantic look. The bride made her niece’s tulle and lace dress and weaved silk ribbon through her petal-filled basket. In that spirit, Amy used her own brass collection to outfit tables and repurposed her grandmother’s veil as décor. The pair exchanged vows beneath a tree with Amy’s own vintage birdcages and string lights hanging from its branches, before recessing through a eucalyptus-framed aisle. Moss, rich red and purple florals and velvet accents created an otherworldly atmosphere at the barn reception. The couple's cocktail hour featured a bonfire, lawn games and furry friends (a herd of goats included).
