A Blush Garden Wedding at Hollis Garden in Lakeland, Florida
Shannon Williamson (21 and a hairstylist) and Logan Williamson (27 and works for Manheim Auto Auction) used a blush color palette for their romantic garden wedding. The couple chose Hollis Garden in Lakeland, Florida, for their venue because they loved the wood floors, exposed beams, oversize windows and rustic fireplace. “It had me sold in a heartbeat,” Shannon says. “But the absolute best thing was the scenery around the venue. There was a lake right behind it, and next to it was a huge garden, which I knew would make an excellent spot for pictures. Plus, Logan loves the charm of Lakeland, so I knew he'd be sold as well.” Wanting their wedding to be personalized, they made a lot of the details themselves, including the eclectic centerpieces. Shannon and Logan covered the reception tables in brown paper and provided guests instructions and crayons and let them draw on the tables. “I know that a lot of people get bored with weddings, so I attempted to keep our guests entertained,” Shannon says. “I wrote a Dr. Seuss-inspired poem that I placed on each table that instructed them what to do. We had paper draped on the tables and crayons for the guests to draw us a picture or write us a message. I had no idea I had so many talented guests at our wedding.” One of our favorite parts, though, was the wire bicycle cake topper. “One of the things my husband and I like to do is ride bikes,” Shannon says. “For Valentine's Day one year he got us a tandem bike, which we still ride. And after the wedding we both got a tandem-bike tattoo with our anniversary date in it.” See all our favorite details, beautifully captured by Kristen Marie Photography, below.
