A Blue and White Horse Country Wedding at Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, Virginia

Meghan (36 and chief financial and operating officer of a real estate investment trust company) and Jeff (38 and a US Air Force lieutenant colonel and pilot) pulled off a dreamy summer celebration with a completely classic color combo: navy blue and white. From paper products to vases, the couple incorporated an elegant navy and white canton floral pattern on their details, including personal welcome notes for attendees. “They were individualized and expressed our sentiments about having each guest with us on this special day,” Meghan says. Asian canton-motif jars were used as vases on the escort card display table and bar. Custom calligraphy escort cards incorporated a complementary floral pattern, and dining tables were marked with navy hand-painted globes labeled with locations of importance to the couple. “We wanted to create a sophisticated but approachable atmosphere with clean flowers and tablescapes,” Meghan says. The couple served blueberry crumble, strawberry-rhubarb and Key lime mini pies, and a three-tier cake adorned with small blooms. “Jeff is a fighter pilot, so we found it amusing to enter the dance floor for our first dance to ‘Danger Zone,’” the bride says.
