A Blooming, Luxe Wedding at Miramount Country Club in Bryan, Texas

Jennifer (25 and a development coordinator and real estate associate) and Doak's (28 and a vice president of business development) massive country club venue was transformed into a cozy, personal lounge with nods to the couple’s Aggie allegiance. The couple’s planning and floral teams collaborated to pull together a never-before-seen event. They made a 13,000-square-foot tent (accommodating 460 guests) seem welcoming, personal and, of course, lush—studded with blooms in shades of blush and the color of Bordeaux wine. Jennifer’s lace gown had convertible shoulder straps that took her from ceremony to reception mode. The groom’s South Texas hometown roots inspired the mariachi band that played during cocktail hour. With guests’ comfort in mind, the tent was sectioned into lounges with a living room feel. A “re-charging station” allowed guests to charge their devices and grab a 5-Hour Energy or a pair of rescue flip flops. In addition to Shiner beer and champagne, water bottles customized with an image of the couple’s puppy reminded guests to hydrate. The white almond cake with raspberry filling was decorated with boldly hued blooms, but the crowning glory of the evening was a wall of vintage light bulbs that lit up with the couple’s new last name as confetti rained down to Katy Perry’s “Firework.” Jennifer and Doak danced among swirling confetti for their big finale, then made their exit and drove off in her father’s maroon Bentley convertible.
