A Blending of Heritage and Travel Inspired This Bohemian Wedding at Moss Denver in Colorado

Allie Perkins is Greek and Andrew Engel is Jewish and has lived extensively in the Middle East—facts that the couple wanted to highlight throughout their wedding. Showcasing their shared love of adventure was also paramount in planning for their Colorado wedding. "We cannot even begin to count the number of hours we had spent in planes, trains, and automobiles," the couple recalls of their love of travel and how formative that's been to their relationship. The goal for the couple's Denver wedding was a, "Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fusion that was equal parts elegant and whimsical." To achieve their travel-inspired wedding in Colorado, the couple, "created a dreamy wonderland full of rich jeweled tones, Persian rugs, velvet lounge furniture, Moroccan lanterns, and just the right amount of bohemian elegance. We knew we wanted our guests to feel transported to another world and experience two wonderful cultures that are so near and dear to our hearts." Another way the couple brought their Middle Eastern- and Mediterranean-inspired wedding to life was through their menu selections. For the Denver affair they served traditional Greek spanakopita, za'atar beef, and a cinnamon-coriander braised duck crostini for hors d'oeuvres. "Guests also had a three-course Greek dinner, which included Greek salad, a mezze platter and a lamb and chicken main course," the couple shares.
