A Black and Pink Casual Wedding at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio

Melissa Rodkey (30 and an education/mental health coordinator) and Frank Rodkey (40 and a machinist) were each asked by a friend to join a sand volleyball team one summer, and both of them agreed. Melissa and Frank were formally introduced when the team met up for drinks before the season began. From there, they developed a strong friendship that over time turned into a romantic relationship. Melissa went on a trip with Frank and his two sons to the Sand Dunes in Michigan, where they were sitting by the campfire one evening. Frank and his boys said they were getting more firewood, but really stepped away to call Melissa’s parents for their blessing. When Frank came back, he asked the question that would change their lives forever. The couple had their wedding in Stone Ridge Golf, with an indoor-outdoor space to hold their wedding for rain or shine. Melissa chose the color palette of pink and black to decorate the details of their casual wedding. Since Frank was into a more casual look, the couple agreed to incorporate Chuck Taylor sneakers into the black wedding party attire. Gerbera daisies and roses were seen throughout the decor, from Melissa’s bouquet to the hanging aisle decorations and the dining table centerpieces. Small bags of white and pink chocolate covered pretzels were handed out to guests as favors.
