A Beach Inspired Destination Wedding at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort in Nassau, Bahamas

Andria Martinez (32, an underwriter) and Eric Cohen (34, works in sales) first met through a mutual friend while the two were in Santa Barbara for the Night Moves duathlon. The weekly race consisted of a 1K ocean swim and a 5K run. The couple became fast friends as well as competitors. “The friendly competition has always been fierce between the two of them as Andria will always reign in the water but Eric's high school track skills were not long lost after a few months of training kicked in,” says Andria. About a year later, her and Eric realized there was more than friendship between them. Thier relationship grew to “a thrilling game of cat and mouse as the romance sparked suddenly on, no less than, Valentine's Day of 2009,” she says. Eric proposed on New Year’s day about three years later while he and Andria were on a hiking trip in Yosemite. Eric brought out the ring when they stopped for lunch. “It was a magical moment filled with lots of shrieks of joy intermingled with laughing and kissing,” says Andria. They had a destination wedding one year and four months later in Nassau, Bahamas.
