A Beach-Inspired Destination Wedding at Grand Palladium Resort & Spa in Lucea, Jamaica

As soon as Tanya Rivard (30 and a tap-dance teacher) and Travis Knights (31 and a tap dancer) thought of having a destination wedding, both of their mothers suggested Jamaica. Tanya and Travis love to travel, so they brought their family and friends to a gorgeous beach resort? They hosted an intimate celebration at the Grand Palladium Resort & Spa in Lucea, Jamaica, and said “I do” in an elegant, open area complete with classic white columns. Since Tanya has always loved collecting seashells at the beach, she and the bridesmaids made DIY seashell bouquets and boutonnieres—perfect details for a wedding just steps from the beach. “It was tricky,” Tanya says of their DIY efforts. “We had to figure it out as we went, but they turned out beautifully.” After exchanging vows in a covered ceremony, the newlyweds sneaked away for a little R&R, including much-needed massages. “That was the best choice we made," Tanya says. "It allowed us to stay out of the sun and just relax together.” Another detail we loved? Tanya and Travis asked their guests to write messages and place them in various bottles, for the couple read on their first, 10th and 25th anniversaries. As the night came to a close, the newlyweds gave their guests a home blend of bottled spices and thanked everyone in a heartfelt candle ceremony.
