A Beach Destination Wedding at Azul Sensatori Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico

Tucked away in a Mexican village by the Caribbean Sea, the Azul Sensatori Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico, provided a serene setting for the destination wedding of Robin Alford (28 and a medical editor) and Thomas Brennan III (32 and self-employed). With the help of the hotel's on-site coordinators, they had a refined and relaxed wedding with 30 of their closest friends and family. The day began with a beach ceremony on the sand, where Robin and Thomas said “I do” under a wedding arch draped in white fabric, complete with a crystal chandelier and eye-catching pink and white floral arrangements by Lomas Travel. Things got a little emotional when Robin walked down the aisle: Instead of a first look, Robin and Thomas opted for a “make-the-groom-cry-at-the-altar moment” when they saw each other for the first time. (Aww!) After Robin and Thomas exchanged the vows they had written to each other the night before, the cocktail hour and reception moved poolside at the resort, where Robin and Thomas played a special playlist of their friends' and family’s first-dance songs. “We wanted our guests to know how special they are to us from the moment they opened their invitation,” Robin says. “It was fun to see the couples light up on hearing their song and remembering their own special day.” See the details, captured by Melissa Mercado Photography, below.
