A Beach-Chic Wedding at the Hillsboro Beach Lighthouse in Florida
rn Chelsea Briche (28 and a blogger) and Robby Scott (28 and a professional baseball player) tied the knot in a beach-chic soiree on the sandy shores of Hillsboro Beach. Staying true to the wedding’s waterfront locale, the couple chose a nautical theme for the affair complete with lighthouse motifs, cool shades of blue and a seaside ceremony. They transformed the shoreline into their own private chapel with a birch arbor draped in slate-blue fabric and gold carriage lanterns filled with bright florals. To put a personal twist on the ceremony, Chelsea and Robby played a recording of Robby’s grandfather singing “Ave Maria.” “Robby’s grandfather had the voice of an angel, and for years it had been a tradition for him to sing ‘Ave Maria’ at family weddings,” Chelsea says. “Ours was the first since his passing, and it was important for us to incorporate that special tradition into our day.” The oceanfront festivities didn’t stop with the ceremony: Dinner and dancing took place on the lawn surrounding the Hillsboro Beach Lighthouse, giving guests a panoramic view of the water. The couple balanced the venue’s laid-back vibe with elegant rose, anemone and eucalyptus centerpieces; gilded flatware; mercury glass accents; and a canopy of bistro lights that cast a warm, ambient glow over the open-air space. When it came to the menu and the music, Chelsea and Robby decided to think outside the box. The couple brought in a steel drummer to play during cocktail hour and skipped the traditional sit-down dinner in favor of stations. For dessert, they surprised guests with a frozen yogurt bar jam-packed with fresh fruit and candy toppings. At the end of the night, family and friends sent the newlyweds off with a festive sparkler exit
