A Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in New Castle, Indiana
Although they were well aware that Indiana weather can be unpredictable, Cassie House (25 and a dental hygienist) and Travis VanOsdol (24 and a process associate) decided not to have a tent at their backyard wedding. "This was one risk worth taking," Cassie said. The couple lucked out with a dry day, and as a result, they had a beautiful summer wedding in the great outdoors. Cassie and Travis let nature take the stage with their simple decor and neutral palette. The outdoor ceremony area was set up with wooden folding chairs and the aisle was marked by a wooden cross. Escort cards for the following reception were hung from twine wrapped around a tree. The reception tables were covered in burlap and decorated with wooden slabs, black lanterns covered in greens and wooden boxes filled with an array of flowers. The wedding party also embraced a nature-chic look. The bridesmaids wore different floor-length dresses in neutral shades, while Travis and his groomsmen wore navy suits. Cassie wore a stunning blush wedding dress with lace details. Cassie and Travis encouraged their guests to bring tents with them to the wedding, so they could all spend the night under the stars after celebrating and dancing.
