A Backyard Garden Wedding at a Private Residence in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island

Mayra Rebello (27 and a credit analyst) and Rodrigo Rebello (29 and a sprinkler pipe fitter) met in 2000 when they were young teenagers in high school. They met through a mutual friend at a party, started dating about a month after, and we have been together ever since. For the past nine years, Mayra and Rodrigo have been engaged, but decided to put the wedding on hold while they focused on their careers and save money for their big day. When they decided to start the planning process, they knew they couldn't settle on a venue. Because of this, they decided to rent a vacation home in Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. This allowed them to bring in as many vendors as they wanted while saving money in areas such as the bar and alcohol costs. With a backyard garden theme on the water, Mayra's Lazaro wedding gown completely beaded with a sweetheart neckline was the perfect match to her special day. Mayra wanted to keep the decor as simple as possible while providing elegant colors through the garden flowers in the centerpieces. For the cocktail hour, the couple hired bartenders and had a special cocktail menu with beach wedding theme drinks such as "Perfect Pair Peach Bellini" and "Marry Me Margaritas". Afterwards a sit down dinner was provided later, giving the guests choices of swordfish, filet mignon and chicken entrees before the couple did a surprise dance after the first dance, which put all the guests in party mode. "The fact that we planned so much of this day together made it the perfect day for both of us. The wedding was exactly what we envisioned, from beginning to end and we were both thrilled about it," says Mayra.
