Darra, 21, a student, and Ryan, 23, a US Marine, met through mutual friends. One night, Ryan took Darra to Castello di Amorosa winery in California. “After a beautiful day of wine tasting, he got down on one knee with his mothers original wedding ring to propose in a courtyard full of strangers,” Darra says. “Amongst all the tears of happiness, I shouted yes and jumped on him with excitement.” The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at the Christ Church on the Boise State campus. They followed with a reception about a mile from the ceremony at the Boise Train Depot. The elegant reception was decorated with shades of pink and white completed with gold accents. They chose a 1920s, Gatsby theme for their reception because of their love of Fitzgerald's novel and the recent release of the updated movie. “All decor was handmade, from scratch, with inspirations from a vast combination of Pinterest photos and watching Gatsby multiple times,” Darra says. She bought silk flowers from the local craft store to put together glamorous hydrangea and peony centerpieces. They completed with night with two glamorous wedding cakes. One made with pink fondant, lace and pearls, and the other a ruffled buttercream cake.
