A Simple, Rustic Wedding at Bristow Manor Golf Club in Bristow, Virginia

It’s not always easy to pull off a red and white palette, but Ashley Norman (25 and a student) and Will Norman (25 and a firefighter) used it in a simple way that we love. “According to Will, the theme was ‘Ashley’s Pinterest favorites,’ " Ashley says. Their day started with a sweet ceremony in front of Bristow Manor Golf Club as each bridesmaid walked down the aisle in a short, red satin dress covered in ruche detailing. Ashley’s dress, however, was our favorite. She wore an elegant, strapless, white mermaid-style wedding dress with an organza trim and delicate embroidery. (One of her father’s detective patches was even sewn inside the dress for a personal touch.) Once she and Will said “I do,” the celebration moved inside for a fun reception. The Flower Box arranged red and white hydrangeas in low centerpieces, as DIY monogrammed bottles topped with burlap flowers accented the rest. Each was set on a wooden base to match the sweetheart table’s wooden “Mr. & Mrs.” centerpiece and the wedding cake topper. Edibles Incredible Desserts placed twin wooden hearts on the confection as each red velvet layer with covered with ivory icing, swirl piped designs and a red ribbon. While Ashley and Will were worried about not being big dancers, their DJ from One & Done Events kept the party going until the end. Mathy Shoots People captured every moment, below. For future newlyweds, Ashley says to focus on the big picture: “Don't stress about making all the little details perfect. Crafting was fun, but decorating over 100 votives probably wasn't necessary.”
